New year, NOt so new me

Happy New Year to all my readers! Even though I have only 1 post on this blog and it’s partially written I was notified that I had 50 new readers, ha!

This year is already starting with a bang, thanks to meee.. because I have a hard understanding of doing too much all at once and forgetting that Timeturners dont exist. ( where are all my HP fans, or has it become problematic?) For the first gig of the year, I will be heading to Des Moines to perform as a special guest for the show Decadance at the Garden. Des Moines is always a fun place to perform and dare i say.. lit? do they still say that?

I remember when I started doing drag( they called up faux queens or bio queens back then) doing burlesque in drag shows wasa practically unheard of and was treated as a smoke break…No shade lol, at least in Nebraska. Burlesque has just started to become a thing in being out of local queer bars in the past 5 years. So when I am booked in spaces that are specifally made for drag to do burlesque always makes me anxious to see how my art will be received. For this show, I dont think that will be an issue seeing that they have another draglesque femme perfomer on the cast, so it should be a lot of fun 🙂 Des Moines seems to be a place that celebrates all forms of queer art.

In this show, its a small cast with about 4/5 people so they are asking for 3 numbers. I am lazy showgirl who hates doing more than two acts. Some people love performing for the love of it, I however am a showgirl who is still suffers from stagefright and anxiety. I have been caught on all fours backstage struggling for breath before I go on. haha. Since they are asking for 3, numbers I have decided to hit them with something, Tried, True and New! I just made that up but I promise I will explain!

Tried: An act I’ve performed once

True: An Act that I’m known for or have really developed

New: An act that is being performed for the first time.

I will also be tapping into my drag bag this show just to really pull out something different. I also wanted to pull out some songs ive been wanting to bring on stage. I keep saying every New Year that comes around that I am going to enjoy the time I have on stage do what brings me joy and follow what inspires me. So with that expect to see some different shit hit the stage.
